Fisher Cheng practices collaborative architecture with a socially motivated agenda. We deliver designs that delight, where the process is just as engaging as the outcome.

We work with purpose towards the common good, across sectors of housing, community spaces, public realm and grassroots-led placemaking.

Our passion lies in shaping the future of places hand in hand with their communities, through creative engagement and dialogue.  We believe the long-term success of a project lies in the custodianship of local stakeholders.

Often working in the context of regeneration, our designs encourage neighbourliness and conviviality, celebrating the civic aspects of everyday life.

Richard Fisher

BA(Hons) DipArch ARB RIBA
Certified Passivhaus Designer

Richard believes good design should be accessible to all, championing meaningful and inclusive engagement as a central part of successful placemaking.

With a strong understanding of policy, Richard embraces the structural complexities of regeneration projects and seeks to ensure that designs reflect the ambitions of each community and the distinctiveness of the site.

Previously while at Hawkins\Brown, Richard had a key role leading the design team during the early stages on a number of significant housing projects, in particular Grange Farm in South Harrow, which required collaborative working with the local community and council.

Prior to this, Richard worked for small practices in Devon and Oxford focusing on bespoke, highly-crafted and highly sustainable private houses, one of which, Cobb House, featured on the programme Grand Designs.
Yuting Cheng

BA(Hons) MArch ARB RIBA
Certified Passivhaus Designer

Yuting co-founded Fisher Cheng in 2018 with a mission to deliver socially driven architecture that delights, through collaborative and equitable means.

Prior to establishing Fisher Cheng, Yuting worked at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, most recently helping to deliver the public realm and social housing element of the ‘ruthlessly inclusive’ Hammersmith Civic Campus to planning stage.

Yuting's Masters thesis envisaged the reworking of Canvey Island Town Council as a civic piece of seaside architecture which was nominated for the RIBA Silver Medal.  She was the recipient of the RIBA South Student Prize, Scott Brownrigg and Spratley Studios prize.

Yuting is also an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University for the Level 7 apprenticeship in Architecture, and a Practice Mentor for MA Interior Design students at the Royal College of Art.
